It is therefore important to check your cylinder head anode seal frequently. It is important to have a marine grade anode for protection of your alpha one generation 1 lower unit so that corrosion does not destroy it.

A marine grade will protect your propeller, keep in mind that more than you are in salt water and cold water there is a greater danger to corrosion. Corrosion can make short circuits and bad connections and even destroy parts of your boat.

Replacing an anode is an inexpensive project to do by yourself.
